"Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things." -Joseph Pilates
As a lifelong dancer and movement enthusiast,
I have always found that movement heals.
I was also fortunate enough to train in NYC at Marymount Manhattan College and with the renowned Martha Graham Dance Company. I was introduced to Pilates at a young age and always found it to be a great way to keep my body aligned and to help recover from myriad dance-related strains and injuries.
I have studied and performed locally with NACRE, Dance Eclectic, and Maude Baum & Co, as well as performed in local theater with NYSTI, Park Playhouse, and Steamer 10 among others. After an extensive ankle injury set me back in college, I decided to take a hiatus from dance to pursue other interests.
After spending several years managing health clubs and nearly 15 years in Real Estate Property Management, I began suffering from the effects of being confined to a desk all day (including a bulging disk and pinched nerve) and having a stress level that was beyond reason. My family and I had been recently blessed with a daughter but I found it harder and harder to care for her without being in constant and excessive pain. It was then that I turned my full attention to Pilates. I could not take care of my family if I didn't care for myself first. I left corporate life and devoted myself to completing my Pilates certifications and making up for lost time with my daughter.
Having completed my Beginner/Intermediate Mat, Comprehensive Apparatus and Advanced Series Certifications through the Beacon Pilates Teacher Training Program, I am now pleased to offer my knowledge and services to you. I truly believe and have first-hand experience that when the weight of the world - work, illness, injury, stress- brings you down, Pilates will help bring you back to life. I can’t wait to help you look and feel your best!
